Tal... Welcome To Schendi

Please feel free to make yourself at home. Schendi is known in Gor as a destination for travelers. So perhaps you'd like to set your bags down on the dock for a moment and have a look at the surroundings before you set off to find lodging or look for one of the port's fine taverns.

Anniversary Celebration coming in June

Tal, everyone! The interview and tour with ladina of Gorean Portals Radio turned out great. We much enjoyed her company. One has to like the way she expresses keen and insightful interest in the things she sees. We only got around about half way on the sim, so perhaps soon we can schedule another time where we can pick up where we left off.

While we are on the subject of ladina and GPR, she also narrated the performance of "A Slavegirl's Story" in Central Fire last week. More on that in the Theater section of this site, but suffice it to say, it was most appreciated. We thank the Radio Station and The Central Fire as well, for making it a successful evening.

The time for our Fourth Anniversary Celebration is rapidly approaching. Some important aspects of that are already well underway. We'll be using the new Kaissa tent which debuted this last Saturday for the match between Greenway Avril and Eldin Stonecutter. The Players displayed their not inconsiderable skill and we received some nice compliments on the facility also, by the way. So we'll have that for Kaissa at the event in June. The dance pavillion is ready as well and we have decided on a two event preliminary where the field will narrow to six dancers on Saturday June 5. We've asked Dar Ruska to provide an opening performance. Schendi's ebony breda will perform her interpretation of "Schendi heat" in exhibition for the theme of the dance event.

The event will include a Gorean trivia game, always enjoyable. We find it more than exciting doing something a bit different in that regard, Gorean Squares. As implied, it's based on the television game show with the similar name. I wish to thank in advance those folks in Three Moons, of Palace Gor from whom we are borrowing the idea. The game will concentrate on Schendi and Explorers related questions. We are looking forward to some laughs as well as interesting knowledge to share. The set we've created promises to amaze and take full advantage of the capabilities of Second Life. We'll need nine panelists, of course, so let us know if you can participate. Knowledge and the ability to bluff and make a joke perhaps are all important traits to possess.

Thinking that the beginning of the weekend should happen in a relaxing manner, the plan is to start Friday night off storytelling and then proceed with a movie, streamed to the screen at "The League". The film will be the classic Gor movie, Outlaw, based on the work of John Norman. Obviously, not a serious treatment of the subject, as anyone who has seen a bit of it will know, our version will amuse for sure. We will present Mystery Science Theatre 3000, episode 519. For anyone who isnt familiar, this is the show where the cartoon silouettes sit and make wisecracks about the movie. Outlaw stars Jack Palance and Donna Denton among others. "The main character's name "Cabot" is spoken more than 55 times in the opening 10 minutes alone, mostly by his friend Watney Smith". So you get the idea. We'll have fun.

Saturday, we'll continue the weekend program with Sidewalk Art. Schendi looks forward to seeing some excellent examples of the things that Goreans are doing these days. At two, after that, "Schendi Heat", the dance exhibition and competition will open with the performance by Dar Ruska. We'll follow with Gorean Squares at 5pm slt and at 7pm we hope as many of our Gorean friends as possible will gather to dance at the Ancient City ruins on the shore of Lake Shaba above the Falls of Bila Huruma.

Sunday we'll open the day with an interesting and inspiring Kaissa Match and close the Celebration at "The League" for a presentation of a Slavegirl's Story,

more details later, until then, I wish you all well

Recent Schendi News

Tal Goreans! The last months and weeks have brought some interesting developments to the city. Many of the changes and additions were long planned while others came up spontaneously. Visitors will now notice a set of street signs posted on most of the corners. Some of these are straight from Explorers. The Street of Coins, featuring a new bank, is said to be be common in Gorean Cities as is the Street of Brands. We also added a Street of Tapestries, which inspired the creation of three new shops, one containing carpets, and another, cloth textures. These are exciting additions to Schendi, adding color and interest.

From Book Thirteen, the city contains a large area known as Utukufu Square. A couple of surprises are coming up there, so begin to keep an eye out. The concept is to build in flexibility for various events. Hint...watch for the next upcoming Kaissa exhibition. The Square also now features a new fountain, where slaves may properly drink from a low position.

In the Jungle, we have begun to revamp some aspects of the Ancient City, so feel free to visit there as well and see how that work is coming along.

This week, ladina fauna of Goreans Portal Radio, plans to visit for a tour and interviews. The hardest working slave girl in Gor radio is also the lovely, longtime property of the city of Ko-Ro-Ba and we are looking forward to her show here and the chance to show off some of the things we are most proud of.

More later...we wish you all well.
